Four groups minimum, that’s what I’ve always told clients they need, but I was wrong…
A couple of weeks ago I moderated a group of experts for a client. The session was like a standard group discussion, but because everyone there was an expert, we got really far with developmental thinking even though we were doing just one group.
The group was more like a co creation session – thinking on behalf of the client and building ideas, taking them further.
So one group can be enough to kick off a project, to stimulate thinking, to get going in the right direction.
I’m also sold now on thinking about recruiting really high quality respondents – really smart people; experts; creative thinkers.
One supergroup could be better than 4 standard ones!
